Hi, I’m Kevin Biggar. I’m an Auckland-based motivational speaker who presents at industry conferences and corporate events around NZ and Australia. I talk about how to take on large challenges, improve teamwork and about how to get the most out of yourself and your team.
I work hard to receive the highest ratings from conference goers. As your keynote speaker I make sure you get a dynamic, engaging (and slightly quirky) presentation. Anecdotes that your people will remember, insights that will make you stop and think, and images that will stick in your head. No jargon, no sugary self-help double speak. Just frameworks and techniques that in my experience (and backed up by the latest research) are likely to make you a lot more effective in your work and life.
The secret sauce is my adventures – I won the trans-Atlantic rowing race and trekked unsupported to the South Pole. And right now I’m currently filming series two of First Crossings – a tv show that re-creates some of the epic adventures of trail-blazing pioneers in NZ. The ups and downs of preparation, the thrills and spills of the execution, the setbacks and the successes of these adventures provide plenty of gripping drama, and edge of the seat excitement. Regardless if they are CEOs, sales people or students the audience seems to be mostly either leaning forward and taking notes or leaning back and laughing.
The anecdotes are a very effective way to transfer powerful messages to the audience – about the things that they can do to take on their own challenges and improve their own situation and capabilities. The great thing about these adventures is that there is a lot of scope to tailor those messages to exactly what you would like to achieve out of the session.
Check out my approach to customising my presentation to what you want here and see some examples of speech outlines. But better still drop me a line here – and lets catch up for a coffee. I will normally get back to you within a few minutes, or call me on 09 889 4368 (if you’re in NZ) or 07 3102 4782 (if you’re in OZ )
Here’s an example of some of things I talk about. This piece is about dealing with the ‘dip’ that you get when in the middle of big challenges.
Every enquiry gets a FREE copy of the either ‘The Oarsome Adventures’ or ‘Escape to the Pole’!
And here I am talking about the rule that you can use in your teams to help deal with difficult situations.
Here is a short clip of me in action presenting at the TIME conference where I shared the stage with my adventure buddy Jamie Fitzgerald.
